SOFTWARE ENGINEER

JOB DESCRIPTION:

You’ll contribute to our success by analyzing, designing, developing, documenting and supporting complex back-end code. Bring your critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills to WSECU. Review IT programming requests by establishing a detailed program based on functional specifications and requirements provided by the service owner. Provide estimates for the requests. Participate in meetings or discussions as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Develop complex integrations between disparate systems.
  • Strong object-oriented development and procedure language.
  • Knowledge in at least one of the followings: Python, Java, C/C++, C#, Pearl, Ruby, ASP.NET and/or VB.NET.
  • Strong coding abilities in JavaScript (experience with numerous frameworks preferred).
  • Familiarity with design patterns and usage Strong refactoring skills.
  • The ability to create easily readable and maintainable code.
  • A solid understanding of secure coding practices.
  • Development of applications from the beginning or modifying existing ones.
  • Build and deployment tools including Testing frameworks.
  • Understanding/have knowledge of development processes.
  • Development methodologies (i.e. Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and when to use them
  • SDLC and RAD models.
  • The ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
  • Customer service oriented and ability to interpret and follow complex technical requirements.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in one of the followings:

  • Computer Engineering
  • Computer Science
